Martin Bergh, managing director of Rooibos Ltd, and Arend Redelinghuys, the company’s marketing director, visited Tharanga Cooray, Rooibos Ltd’s sales manager in Sri Lanka. Together, they paid a visit to Dilmah Teas and met its chairman, FJ Fernando.
Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dilmah pioneered the concept of Single Origin Tea in 1988 when the Fernando family company went against industry trends to declare its commitment to authenticity.
Said Martin Bergh, “Even though the world is more connected than ever, there is much to be said for face-to-face meetings. Industry relationships are important to share knowledge, promote innovation and grow the industry. The visit also provided us with new insight into the region’s markets.”
